Committee Vacancies
Committee Volunteers Needed – League Secretary, Junior League Secretary & Social Media Role.
Earlier this year we put out a call for a new League Secretary, and we wanted to give members an update on where things stand — and to broaden that appeal.
We are still looking to fill three important positions on the committee: League Secretary, Junior League Secretary, and now a new Social Media Officer role.
Both Fay and Mark have given many years of dedicated service to Sheffield & District tennis and have kept things running brilliantly during what has been an extended interim period. However, they are both looking to step down later in the year, and we genuinely need people to step forward to keep the leagues running.
These are vital roles. Without the league secretaries in place, the leagues simply can’t function — so if you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in the running of tennis in Sheffield, now is the time.
We’re also launching a new Social Media Officer role, and we’d love to find someone with a good knowledge of social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram, to take it on. The role would involve helping to promote the tennis and padel leagues, shouting about activities and events happening at clubs across the region, and raising the profile of bigger occasions like the Sheffield & District Closed Tournament and the Annual Dinner. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to how Sheffield & District tennis is seen — and a great way to get involved with the committee without needing any prior administrative experience.
If you’re interested in any of these positions, or know someone who might be, please get in touch at SDLTA.queries@gmail.com. We’re happy to have an informal chat about what the roles involve before anyone commits to anything.
