Committee Code of Conduct
Sheffield and District Lawn Tennis Association Committee Code of Conduct
The purpose of this code is to assist individuals in their voluntary role as Committee members to maintain high standards of conduct and in doing so, protect the best interests of our association and our member clubs.
Committee members must:
Act as an ambassador and advocate of the Association and its objectives at all times.
While carrying out Association business, act only in the interests of the Association and its membership, not an individual club or group.
Listen and respect the views of others and always use appropriate and respectful language and behaviour.
Ensure that their position as a Committee member is not used for personal gain.
Champion equality and respect the rights, dignity and worth of all people involved in the Association and its member clubs, regardless of gender, race, colour, disability, sexuality, age, occupation, religion or political opinion.
Disclose any direct or indirect interests which could influence judgement or give the impression that the Committee or Committee member was acting for personal gain.
Committee members must not:
Act with bias or prejudice towards others.
Bring the Committee or Association into disrepute or prejudice its general good standing in any way.
